Pick up service from your hotel (Lombok area) or Airport, transfer direct to Senaru village. Check in at a Home Stay. If still enough time you can have a senaru waterfall tour. Senaru’s best known attraction is the Sendang Gila waterfall which attracts many thousands of Indonesian and foreign visitors annually.

Located at about 600m above sea level, the waterfall is an easy 20 minute walk down a graded trail and steps from Senaru Village, a pleasant alternative return route winds along the edge of the steep valley, following the irrigation canal.

For the more adventurous, Senaru’s “second waterfall” Tiu Kelep is another hour’s walk upriver from Sendang Gila. The scramble over rocks through the tropical forest is rewarded by the beauty of the waterfall and a swim in its deep pool. It is said locally that every time you swim behind the main waterfall of Tiu Kelep you become a year younger!

At 7pm, you will have a trekking briefing by the trekking guide

About 8 o’clock in the morning you will have breakfast at the hotel and than our crew will transferring you to the trekking starting point (about 1km from the hotel). Your guide arrange National Park entry ticket and the trekking begin.

The first hours of the trek climb steeply through thick tropical forests rice in flora, bird life and a variety of butterflies. You might see orchid and, if lucky, the rare black ebony leaf monkey, known locally as Lutung. Rest stops are taken along the way, and at Pos 2 Montong satas shelter (1,500m). Village stories and local legends are related by your guide. Features include the banyan tree Bunut Ngengkang that looks like someone standing with their legs apart, and the Batu Penyesalan stone.

Depending on your preparation and weather conditions, the night camp is made either in the forest at pos 3 Mondokon Lolak (2,000m) after about five hours climb from senaru, or continue the ascent for another couple of hours through grassy meadows Plawangan 1 Senaru crater rim at 2,641m. from the crater rim are sweeping views across the lake Segara Anak (2,00m) to the summit of Mt. Rinjani. Within the crater, Mt. Baru ( 2,351m) is an active, last erupting dramatically in 1994. On a clear evening the Gili Islands Bali and Mt. Agung can be seen to the west.

Camp – Dinner – Overnight

After breakfast, down to the lake Segara Anak (2,000 m) within the Rinjani crater. The trek route in this point is steep and rocky. Your guide and porters will assist and give you extra attention. Mt. Baru (2,351m) is an island in the lake and an active volcano, last erupting dramatically in 1994.

Going down the ridge passing numerous Edelweiss plants Bunga Abadi to the crater rim camp for a well-deserved lunch. It takes two to three hours down the steep trail to the crater lake and days camp. The rest of the day is spent relaxing, swimming in the lake and exploring the caves and pilgrimage hot springs, believed to have healing powers.

Leave the lake and climb for three hours up to Plawangan Senaru (crater rim). Lunch served on the way. Rest at Pos 3 for a meal break and continue going down with gentle walk back to Senaru where the car is waiting to take you back to your hotel or your next destination.
